Over eighteen years after beginning my adventure as a massage practitioner, and I am still in love! For the last seven years I have run this clinic, managing some of what I believe to be some of the best therapists in the county. The LMP's here at Selah are really a family. All of us share the desire to take the best care possible of the people who come through our doors... you are family too! Injury recovery, accident rehab, and chronic pain are what I seem to spend most of my time on, as well as maintenance work once issues are resolved. I utilize a fusion of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Neuromuscular Therapy, but always with ultimate relaxation!

Massage is a new found passion of mine. I grew up doing dance (my first love!) through out my school years, giving me a good understanding of the body. Massage school deepened that understanding. I was intrigued by all the content and healing effects on the body that massage can offer. I've been working as an LMP since May of 2009. I specialize in Deep Tissue because it provides the quickest relief to chronic muscle pain and muscle issues. I believe that massage is about helping my clients reach their goals-whether it is to unlock stubborn muscles, or just a time to relax and escape the daily stresses that plague us all. Also, I am Certified in Reflexology for the feet. It is amazing the level of relaxation and healing effects on the body that can be achieved even after one session. The newest addition to my skill list is the AromaTouch Technique using Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils, you can learn more about it on the Services page.

I have been doing massage since 2006, and have worked in both spa and cozy clinical settings. I perform a range of modalities from Swedish to Hot Stone. Ask me about Ashiatsu or Thai Massage! Deep Tissue/Therapeutic work is my specialty. I love what I do! Massage is my passion, and the needs and well-being of my clients are very important to me.
Danica Nwerem, LMP
Hello, my name is Danica Nwerem. I am a Licensed Massage Practitioner and I have been an LMP for over 10 years. I enjoy every opportunity to work with my clients to relieve stress, help manage chronic pain, or assist in recovery from an injury or accident. I use a variety of techniques such as Deep Tissue, Swedish/Relaxation, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy, and stretching. Outside of massage I enjoy hiking and exploring Portland. My wonderful husband and I have been blessed with three beautiful children. We love going to the park, culture, and music. I am honored to be a part of the Selah team, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

So, what does "Selah" mean anyway?
I hear that a lot! Selah (say-la or see-la) is a Hebrew word with many pronunciations, and many meanings. It is one of the most difficult Hebrew words to translate into English, but what I came up with in my research is that it is a word often used as a musical term, as in a musical rest or pause; but it is also a word that denotes pausing, resting, reflecting in our lives and thoughts. The latter is my thought for this clinic. Our goal for this place is to create an environment where you can forget about the world around you for a little while and take care of your body.
